Spring Skincare Reset Ritual with ZENTS Ambassador Shayda

Rituals help us slow down, and find happiness in the smallest of things. To welcome in spring ZENTS Ambassador Shayda is starting with a simple ritual that’s both exfoliating & hydrating, using her dry brush and favorite ZENTS products in the scent SUN.

The idea behind dry brushing is to get your lymphatic system moving, which helps improve the body’s circulation, digestion and helps get rid of toxins. By slowing down and taking time to care for the body through a simple practice like dry brushing, we help to rejuvenate the nervous system. A dry-brush routine is also great for skin exfoliation too, slough off dead skin and unclog pores. Here’s how the ritual goes…

With a dry brush, gently rub the brush in circular, upward motions, followed by longer, smoother strokes. Tip: spritz a bit of Body Oil before brushing if your skin is a bit sensitive.

Begin at the ankles and brush upward towards the heart (the lymph flows towards the heart, so it’s important that you brush in the same direction.) Move up to the lower legs, thighs, stomach, back and arms. *Be cautious of softer and sensitive skin around the chest, and never brush over inflamed skin, sores or sun-burn.

When you reach the chest and back, brush down toward the heart.

Next I use the UNZENTED body polish for a little extra exfoliation. To get the perfect polish, I apply a thick layer of Body Oil to the skin as a base and glide a small amount of the Polish over the oil, followed by a shower to rinse off dry skin cells and impurities.

[NOTE: People with open or inflamed skin, including people with eczema and psoriasis, should avoid dry brushing over the inflamed area. Avoid sensitive areas, including rashes, wounds, cuts or infections. If you have a skin condition, you should speak with your doctor before dry brushing.]

I add hydration back into the skin after showering with the ZENTS Luminous Cashmere Body Oil in the scent Sun. For extra nourishment follow it up with the ZENTS Probiotic Lotion!

Lastly, I apply the roller ball Attar on my wrist, then rub my wrists together to heat up the oils. Bringing my hands and wrists up to my nose for 3 deep breaths. This simple ritual, and skin care practice allows me to slow down, pour some time into caring for myself, and enjoy the aromas of spring.

I hope you have an abundant spring season. ~With loving kindness, Shayda
